What we do...
The Five Defining Ministries of the Church
WORD & GOSPEL: The ministry of the Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ are central to all that we do. Scripture defines our understanding of God, man, sin, salvation, church, and the ultimate end of all things. This ministry shapes our lives through: the public reading of Scripture, preaching, teaching, and biblical counseling.
WORSHIP: Worship is our humble and thankful response to the gospel. The corporate ministry of worship includes confession, repentance, giving, singing, praying, and listening, all for the purpose of glorifying God.
COMMUNITY: The ministry of biblical community, or fellowship, is defined by our shared relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. As a multi-ethnic community, it is the gospel that defines us and brings us together. Empowered by the Spirit, we cultivate community through service, prayer, studying Scripture, and confession of sin, one to another.
MISSION: The ministry of mission seeks to bring the gospel to unbelievers. Through mercy ministries, missions, and evangelism, we display the transforming power of the gospel to our neighbors and the nations for the glory of God.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION: Spiritual formation, or discipleship, describes the grace-driven efforts we make to train ourselves in godliness. The ministry of spiritual formation encourages the formative habits of prayer, Scripture reading, meditation, study, fasting and other spiritual disciplines.
